
We are pleased to announce that Ms Ketevan Betaneli joined the Advisory Board of the Caspian Arbitration Society in July, 2020.
Ketevan Betaneli is a Senior Knowledge Lawyer at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Paris. Prior to joining Freshfields, she was an associate at Shearman & Sterling’s international arbitration group in Paris and also held the position of the Head of State Representation in Arbitration and Foreign State Courts Division and the Deputy Head of the same department at the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, Tbilisi. She also practiced as an associate at DLA Piper Georgia LP in Tbilisi.
Ketevan is the Arbitration Council Member of the Georgian International Arbitration Centre (GIAC) as well as the Court member for Georgia of the International Court of Arbitration of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).
Ketevan is admitted to practice law in Georgia and is a member of the New York State Bar.
Ketevan holds a BA in International Law from Tbilisi State University, a Masters in Public International Law from Helsinki University, a Masters in International Commercial Arbitration Law from Stockholm University, and an LL.M. in Corporate Law from New York University School of Law.
Ketevan regularly speaks during conferences (including at the GIAC conferences in Tbilisi and at the International Atyrau Legal Conference in Atyrau, Kazakhstan) and publishes articles on various topics (including on “The 2018 Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea” in the Kazakh Journal on Subsoil Use and Law).
